hope you all had a very MERRY Christmas!

Here are a few tidbits to share gearing up for my Jan 2nd re-opening! Cant wait to see you guys  soon! Happy Holidays!!
TURN AROUND: Current turn around time is *4 weeks. I have NO inventory, every frame is CUSTOM MADE TO ORDER. TURN around will stay at 4 weeks . I can only accommodate 10-15 frames per week and frames are made in order of purchase date. When a week fills up the shop will be put on vacation mode until the next week opens up. This is done to try and always have your custom frame to you with in 4 weeks time.
*Subject to change
*GOLDEN RULES to remember about owning/working with a "MOMMY" business:
#1. I am the CEO, i am also the Janitor, so remember I am only ONE person and I have only TWO hands, so emailing, picking wood, updating the collection, hand distressing each frame,showcasing and updating Facebook/blog/twitter, painting, and yes even the clean up all takes time so please know I will get to all of your emails and etsy convo's it may just take me 48 hours.
#2. There is no one to call when I am sick or one of my two sweet boys, or even when the hubby falls ill from time to time. Please understand 4 weeks may get pushed a day or three if the house turns into a sick ward ;)
#3. My family IS and will always be my 1st priority, try and remember this when hiccups happen. I am not perfect and i do get MOMMY brain from time to time...try and take it easy on me ;). I want to bring you the most custom and unique frames out there but I also have to run this household, make it to PTA meetings, soccer practices and yes Janitor my own house ;)
#4. Mommy's always want perfection {perfection takes time} and that goes without saying to anyone who has ever purchased a frame from me. As a testimony 80% of my orders all come from repeat customers. What a rewarding experience to put love and time and attention into something and receive the greatest compliment, which is REPEAT business. I would NEVER want to RUSH your order or frame and thats why i try to give you as much details up front to make it easier for us both!

until January...

hello my sweet friends..well i have a little news...the etsy shop isn't open today and i will not be taking any new orders until January (about 10 weeks)... with the new retail/workshop and being booked until January i will reopen the etsy shop and the list then. I am so incredibly blessed to have such an amazing job and fabulous loyal customers {tear} but i want to be back in January BETTER than ever with a shorter turn around, new designs and a MORE organized order system, being a "one woman show" i have gotten a little bit overwhelmed and want to start with a fresh new list in January and take the next ten weeks to get my new shop in order and take time for the holidays with my sweet hubs and family. I will be checking in here from time to time and i hope to see you at my grand opening this Saturday. I will have some great gift size frames for sale. thanks for such a great 2012 and i cant wait to see what 2013 hold for delta girl! xoxo

i just love a neutral gallery wall

well school is back in and that means full on RUSH for sorority rows across the country have begun. i had a sweet girl form Virginia contact  me about doing a wall for her sorority open house and wanted to showcase fun photo's.
Never underestimate the power of a neutral color pallet...we mixed solids and patterns to compliment and added sizes that formed a perfect gallery. we also did extra espresso and mocha antique glazing to all the frames to add an extra touch of vintage. The main colors are fawn,vintage cream, and grey. Hope these were a big open house hit!

"how to" distressing shutters

hi there....well this is my VERY F I R S T......drumroll ...... DYI blog post and i hope this helps a lot of readers have a fun lil' "at home project" that can really add a ton of shabbiness without a ton of dough. I recently posted this pic of a grey washed frame with my two shutters on either side to really give the frame a open window look and to use space. Whether you have a large wall that you cant quite figure out how to take up the space .....and maybe don't have budget to do a whole wall gallery, this is a great option. Another fab idea is to put them on either side of a TV openings as well so you don't have that flat screen just floating is space. Ok folks here is goes! ***Sorry i don't have pics of all the steps I didn't know i would be blogging about this but i have had lots of request!Step by step:

What you need:
 2 old or new shutter {I got mine off eBay for $11} They were yellow then painted red so it doesn't matter what color you find

Lowe's Valspar Glaze in color Mocha ($14.97

One can of white cheap spray paint (.97 cents @ Lowes)

One can of dark brown cheap spray paint ($1.97 Lowes)

Two sawtooth Hangers ($1.00)

One old dish rag

Old chip brush

STEP ONE:
Spray paint the shutter with the dark brown spray paint all over {Let dry 1 hour}

STEP TWO:
Spray Paint with White all over (Two coats) {Let dry 2 hours}

STEP 3:
*Dip the old rag in a little water so it is damp(NOT WET) and then just wrap the tip of the towel around a few fingers and dab it in the glaze
*Dab the towel onto old newspaper a few times so its not runny, A LOT goes a LONG way!
*Start wiping side to side on the shutter and all around the edges, wipe it until you feel its has the amount of the glaze color on top of the white that you prefer.
*Next take windex and a paper towel and wipe the whole things down running it down and across to get off excess glaze.
*Then take chip brush and just dab the tip in the glaze and brush it up and down VERY lightly down and across the around the edges. ****Another tip is to take a small art brush and work the glaze into each and every crack and crevasse you can and then wipe down the excess with a damp paper towel. This glaze is great because it allows you to work with it for an hour before it completely dries so have fun!!!
Let me know if anyone out there TRIES it!!

thinking large

ok lately i have been on the large side....not me myself {hopefully} but have been making lots and lots of large Frames. One i did for a vanity mirror in a white wash with wavy trim with gobs of chocolate glazing ,which i love....i really ages it and gives it a super vintage feel. i keep saying I'm going to do my vanity mirror and this really gets me motivated!

UP next was a large cork board in the Nate c h e v r o n pattern! What a perfect way to showcase the kids art work when they are back in school this fall{which is quickly approaching}. This is a 19x25 inner opening but cork comes as wide as 24x36. Email me for more questions about the cork boards. I do install the cork and they come ready to hang! I have this one on etsy here.

Other exciting news is that i am most likely MOVING into my very own workshop!!!! i cant believe it and i cant believe there will actually be a space just for me and a place where you can come view my work. Other super secret things along with this news September 1st!! STAY TUNED and follow the blog for the latest. I would also like to welcome my NEW assistant Annie Billions! Im overjoyed to finally have some help around here! She is so super cute and amazing and a sweet mother of three that was looking for a fun outlet part-time and we are teaming up. She will be helping with emails,convo's ,Facebook, and shipping so i can concentrate on FRAME making. Our hope is to get turn around to from 8-10 to 6 weeks!
